teacher of religious studies & philosophy

Following the retirement of the current Head of Department an exciting opportunity exists to join a small department that seeks to honour and value the diversity of religious traditions and thinking found in our modern and diverse society.

The ideal candidate will have a good honours degree in Religious Studies or Philosophy & Ethics with familiarity of the GCSE and A-Level syllabuses. Experience of teaching to examination level will be an advantage; however, applications from NQTs are warmly invited. A willingness to contribute to the school’s wide extra-curricular programme would also be welcomed.

The aim of the department is to engage pupils in an intellectually rigorous and honest exploration of the fundamental questions of life, enabling them to study about religious beliefs and to learn from those beliefs.

If you are passionate about your subject and preparing pupils well for life after School then we would love to hear from you. In return you will have the opportunity to be part of a School community where every staff member and pupil is known and valued.
