St Edmund's
A-Level Results Day
Students at St Edmund’s School Canterbury are today celebrating an excellent set of A-Level examination results.
The percentage of A* and A grades was up slightly from last year at 29% (2023 = 26%) despite the exam boards using standard (non Covid-adjusted) grade boundaries. The number of A*-C grades was the same as last year, at 76%, with 58% of grades achieved at A*-B. (This compares with 53% in 2023). This year there were twice as many A* grades as 2023 distributed across a range of academic subjects, including Ceramics, Computer Science, Drama, DT, English Literature and Mathematics. The overall pass rate this year was 97%.
The Head Edward O’Connor said:
“I am immensely proud of this group of students. These results are fitting reward for their hard work and application over their school careers. They now move on to a fantastic range of universities to continue their education in a broad range of academic disciplines. Moreover, they leave the school as well-rounded, socially responsible and empathetic individuals who will undoubtedly go on to be leaders in their chosen fields. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our extraordinary teachers whose subject expertise and dedication underpin these excellent results and form the bedrock of our school.”
