St Edmund's
Head's Blog
week b already!
Highlights so far:
- Pupil positivity: it is great to have them back (some even look pleased to see me!)
- The “can do” attitude of St Edmund’s staff as they adapt (once again) to major changes to teaching and learning provision
- My walkabout last Friday afternoon during Senior School activities and JS Sport (and a long overdue chat about cricket with Mr Penn)
- Mr Payne and Mr Millard expertly managing temperature checking in the Piggeries Car Park
- Mr De Silva’s video newsletter (I now feel even more like an analogue man in a digital age)
- Listening to our choristers back rehearsing in the Chapel from 7:30 every morning (have a look at today’s Daily Telegraph btw!)
- The collective satisfaction of our staff team that St Edmund’s is up and running and that teaching and learning is taking place again
- Great parental feedback on the restart plus some constructive tips for improvement: thank you!
Looking forward:
- Assessments: in Senior School we will be running a series of assessments in the coming weeks. This will enable us to understand the impact of the lockdown on pupil learning and put plans in place to support them going forward. This will be especially important in exam groups
- Reopening+: continue to refine and improve our reopening strategy to maintain the positive momentum so far
- EKST: St Edmund’s is chairing the East Kent Schools Together Partnership for this academic year. We take over from Herne Bay High on 17th September
Lots going on.
Onwards!
